I have made many ecological trips from Dongwuqi to Helihada, a
large wetland and two cliffs 30 kilometers southeast.
I'm familiar with the landscape in that area.
Recently, a friend brought me a photograph of the place and
asked me to paint a landscape. The picture shows two flat marks
of gravel roads, which have been repeatedly pressed by car
tires.
That picture reminded me of the grassland road in Mandu when I
jumped the queue. It was a grassland road with three lanes that
had been crushed by oxcarts for many years. The middle road was
trodden by oxen and horses, and on both sides was the road made
by oxcarts' wheels.
I painted the grassland road in my memory. On the road, the grass was more lush, the color was darker and the flowers were more. I seemed to smell the unique aroma of the grassland.
